Food Contest
8 – 10 November 2024
Welcome to the Alp’24 International Alpine Food Contest from 8 to 10 November 2024 in Stans, Switzerland. The first international market and food contest for regional products from the Alpine region offers you the chance to showcase the culinary diversity of your region and gain valuable recognition with your products in the international competition. An expert jury will award medals to the best products. The public will be invited to a tasting market where they can taste and buy your products.

When are you eligible for an award?
Bronze medal: 17 points
Silver medal: 18 points
Gold medal: 19 – 20 points
Prix d'Excellence
In each product category, our expert jury will award a Prix d’Excellence to one of the gold-medal-winning products. If 12 or more products receive a gold medal, only those that have received 20 points can be nominated for the Prix d’Excellence. The Prix d’Excellence is awarded only to products that can guarantee a sufficient quantity on the market.

Figures from the Alpine region
In the case of processed products, at least 80% of the raw materials (mass) must come from the Alpine region.
100% of unprocessed agricultural products must come from the Alpine region. 100% of the name-giving ingredients must also come from Alpine regions.
33% of products will be awarded a medal for each category.
The seven Alpine countries are divided into a total of 28 regions.
The 5,700 municipalities are distributed across 98 provinces or districts.
The Alpine countries are home to more than 14 million inhabitants.

Alpine product competition for regional producers
The food contest is open to producers from the seven Alpine countries with processed and reproducible products in the five categories.
The food contest is open to all producers of regional products: farmers, bakers, confectioners, butchers, cheesemakers, distillers, beekeepers, etc. The focus is on manufactures and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The registration deadline has expired
A total of 337 products from France, Italy, Austria, Slovenia and Switzerland have been entered for the competition. They will be tasted by the jury in October 2024 and rewarded on 9 November 2024 at the CULINARIUIM ALPINUM in Stans.
Our jury
The jury of at each tasting table consists, if possible, of at least one category expert, one producer and one consumer. While each member of the jury evaluates the product, the final score is based on the consensus of all the jurors at the same table. In the event of a disagreement or an undervalued rating, the final rating will be decided by the president of the respective category.
A maximum of 33% of the products submitted will be awarded a medal for each category.
